GOOD APPLICATION PRACTICE OR HOW TO DECREASE TAG LOSSES !
It's an unquestionably fact that a well installed tag will better resist wear and daily shores than a randomly installed tag.
For this reason, ITW REYFLEX give special care to the sensibilisation of all bodiess in the identification field.
To do so, in partnership with our Customers, we do not hesitate to assist the various Master (...) during sensibilization meetings for our Customer Producers.
Since a tag installation is sometimes close to beeing a sporting outcome, we must thank the persons who perform this important task because a well installed tag reduce the tag losses.
As a general rule, tags must preferably be stored in a dry, clean place, protected from dust and light.
Use of clean tags decreases the risk of infection and thus the risk of tag hole enlargement
2. APPLICATION TOOLS: the tagger and blunt point pin

The tagger role is essential. Take care to store correctly your installation equipment and protect it against damage. |
ITW REYFLEX tags are compatible with other taggers from the market providing they are accredited. However, care must be taken to verify that the pin is of the European Standard for which our tags have been designed. Adapted tagger and pin will insure the proper fastening of the tag two elements and the proper positioning of the male and female parts on the tagger prior to tagging.
3. ITW REYFLEX TAGS UNIQUE FEATURES
Reyflex tags have been designed with the Sustainable Development in mind, including recycling of all the material at the end of the tags' use. Reyflex tags completely perform their function without resorting the use of any inserts ( neither metallic nor plastic)
The male part original fastening system is a triple ridge locking mechanism that perfectly matches the ridges inside the female head.
Prior to installing, verify that you are going to install the female part of the tag inside and the male part on the outside of the ear.
Set the tag at 90° from the tagger. Set the tag in the proper ear location (see tag location). The female part must imperatively be located in the inside of the ear. To correctly fasten the tag, you must press the tagger all the way to the stopper. This is the way to ensure you have passed thru the 3 "clip" ridges.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: As everyone knows, it is always easier to install the first tag than the second one. It is therefore important to start the tag installation on the side mostly difficult for you, while the animal is still quiet, and finish on the easiest side.
We recommend the tag positions indicated below.
CATTLE
Tags located in the center of each ear, between the 2 veins for cattle
Check that the N° installed in the second ear matches the one installed in first ear !
SHEEP - GOATS
Tag located between the 2 veins of the ear,
at one third of the distance from the head for sheep and goats.
Tags losses are a combination of several factors. Do not let an approximate installation ruin your daily efforts !
