VISUAL TAGS

ITW Reyflex identification tags are made of flexible polyurethane. They are printed with the official or animal management identification numbers to ensure traceability. Tags are made of two parts, one male and one female fastened together through the animal ear.
ITW Reyflex visual tags have been designed with sustainable development in mind. They are made of a single high quality material, with no inserts, ensuring the potential for material recycling at the end of the tags use (ex. when the animal is slaughtered).

The original locking design developed by ITW REYFLEX (patented) is a triple ridge mechanism that makes it impossible to re-use the tag. This design gives the tag an exceptional piercing strength that penetrates the toughest ears. Tagging the animal can be performed with most blunt point pin taggers on the market. Modularization of our tags makes all male/female combinations possible. Two printing techniques are used : laser printing and TECHNOJET printing.

The ITW REYFLEX product range addresses a wide range of needs in the animal identification field. Each step of the manufacturing process gets special attention. The entire company is engaged in a Continuous Progress process with methods certified by the AFAQ ( French Association for Quality Insurance ) (ISO V 2000 certification).

Taking into account producers' needs and the constraints linked to natural resource utilisation, the Reyflex teams developed a wide range of visual products respecting SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT and ANIMAL WELL-BEING.
They found original, simple and reliable solutions that permit:

• Obtaining and controling the break strength (to more than 400N / 40lbs as necessary),
• Achieving a sharp tip shape with a small diameter ( to lessen the risk of cartilage tearing),
• The use of a larger shaft diameter to:
  - lessen the risk of bending
  - prevent separation under tension and re-use of tag
• Ensuring a smooth rotation between male and female parts,
• An easier potential recycling of tag material (no other materials mix, no insert) at the end of the tag use.

This design, associated with Reyflex plastic moulding Know How and the permanent development to improve the processes, allow us to obtain excellent field results.
For example :limited flexing and large diameter of the shaft prevent ear tearing. Smooth rotation diminishes infection risks and enlargement of the ear hole. The high break strength limits sudden breakage of an entangled tag, etc. Tags are designed to break before tearing the ear.

What about TECHNOJET^® printing?

Product of our engineer's research, TECHNOJET printing is the sophisticated evolution of "deviated ink multi-jet" technology, to address the multiple constraints of animal identification.

Our customers brought to our attention their wishes regarding the drawbacks of the traditional printing techniques in use. Reyflex teams searched for a concrete answer. After long months of research and development, the TECHNOJET technology – good legibility and lasting imprint – was born!

ITW REYFLEX has perfected the TECHNOJET printing technology, and positioned the process as an alternative to traditional laser printing.
